Beach Bite!!!

The fish are definately on the beach and biting strong. I went out over the weekend and started by trolling for Spanish Mackeral. The Spanish were biting, and it didn’t take long to catch all I wanted for dinner. With one throw of the net inshore of the Hothole, I had enough pogies to go after some King Mackeral. Some boats were already catching a few so I had a good idea where to start. We put out the lines near Ocean Crest pier. It didn’t take long to see the first fish, a nice 20+ pounder sky on the long line, but miss the hooks. Twenty minutes later, my partner, Miss Whitney, had a nice king on. We fought the fish for ten minutes, gaffing a nice 20 pounder for the grill. We trolled for a few minutes longer and decided to head back to the house to beat the storm that was rolling in. All in all a good afternoon on the water. The fish are definately biting, so come on down and lets go fishing.

Fall/winter fishing

Fishing over the last few weeks has been phenomenal. The inshore scene has been great with big catches of trout and drum!! Also the offshore bite has been great with large catches of king mackerel and grouper. In the stream anglers have been catching nice wahoo and blackfin tuna. The bluefin should be here anytime so get ready!! M

These pics are from an offshore trip on September 25. Had a great day catching some Grouper, BeeLiners, Bass, Kings, Amberjack, and One nice Cobia. This was my birthday trip and we had a blast with some good friends; Brian Pain, Capt. Derek Savage, and Capt. Zack Shackleton.

Great Offshore Trip, 50 pound Hoo

Capt. Zack had a offshore trip Sunday and had great luck. He bottomfished most of the day catching a limit of BeeLiner Snapper, Black Bass, and Grunts. After the guys caught all the bottom fish they could stand, Zack started Trolling. It didn’t take long before he had several King Mackeral on, one turning out to be a nice Wahoo. The fish are definately on fire!! Come on down and lets go fishing

Capt. Zack just got back from offshore and caught lots of bottom fish! The top water bite was slow, but the other fish made up for it!!

Fishing the Past Week

The first couple of days last week the weather was horrible. We did get some much needed rain, but it made for some sloppy seas. We did manage to get out the latter part of the week and make some good catches of Spanish Mackeral. Had one offshore trip on Saturday and caught some nice Amberjack and Cobia. There were also lots of Black Bass to go around. This week looks great, i’ve got a limited number of openings left so give me a call and lets go fishing.

Capt. Zack fished today with Tim McDonald and Crew from the Pinehurst area. They trolled and bottom fished catching one nice Mahi, Spanish Mackeral, and a basket of Black Bass and Grunts. They missed their chance at a Sailfish, you can’t hook em all.
